It should be noted that all yoga poses can help you lose weight and become healthier in mind, body, and spirit. However, if weight loss is your ultimate goal, you’ll want to start out with poses that burn fat, build muscles, and increase your flexibility.
Here are four yoga poses you can use for weight loss. They are all for beginners and therefore, easy to do, but the results are unmatched. They are all very effective regardless of your skill level.
1. Plank Pose
The Plank Pose is one of the most basic in yoga. It appears easy enough and getting into the position is easy. It’s staying in it that’s the challenge! This yoga pose is one of the best ways to strengthen all of your core muscles. Stronger muscles lead to increased metabolism, too, which promotes further weight loss.
2.Downward Dog Pose

The Downward Dog Pose is another yoga pose that appears simple on the surface. However, this pose is an all-over body workout and muscle toner! The Downward Dog Pose will strengthen your core muscles, back, thighs, and arms. It also stretches the shoulders, hamstrings, calves, arches, and hands nicely.
3. Warrior II Pose
Warrior II Pose carries more power with it than just its name. This pose focuses on large major muscle groups that often get ignored, your shoulders and thighs. Remember, the more muscle you have, the more fat you burn. Warrior II Pose also stretches out the chest and lungs, so make sure to take deep, full breaths.
The Chair Pose is more of a difficult pose but one of the best yoga poses for weight loss. It’s not easy to pretend you’re sitting on a chair that’s not there and that is basically what this pose calls you to do. You don’t have to hold it for long when you’re just starting out. Even small amounts when you’re able to will activate and strengthen the muscles of the back, legs, and core. It has also been shown to strengthen the spine as well.
